Any best recommended pretty parks and walks and short hikes around Irvine? You can include but not limited to coastal area.

We like Santiago Oaks Regional Park. There are a lot of different trails from easy to difficult (based on signs). Two caveats are that mtn bikers use the trails as well and during summer there is not much shade.
Another one is Oak Canyon Nature Center in Anaheim Hills. Very nice walks with plenty of big oak trees to provide shade and not mtn bikers.

Depending on where in Irvine, these are about 20-35 min drives.

At the beach, Crystal Cove State Park in Newport Beach and Heisler Park at Laguna Beach. Heisler is a sidewalk stroll but the views of the beach just below are fantastic, and there are several stairways where you can go down to the sand.

Sherman Library & Gardens on PCH in Corona del Mar has a small entrance fee and isn't really a park, but if you like beautiful and interesting plants and flowers you can easily spend a couple of hours just strolling around seeing everything.

These are all inland:

Aliso & Wood Canyon in Aliso Viejo/Laguna Beach. There are multiple entry points and multiple trails from shady and flat to very steep and exposed. There are ocean views from the high points but you can't hike to the beach from there.

Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park in Foothill Ranch (Lake Forest). The hike to Red Rock Canyon is particularly nice.

O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon. A bit more of a drive from Irvine, but the drive through Live Oak Canyon is gorgeous.

Just like Santiago Oaks, all of these parks are also used by mountain bikers, but most of the bikers are very polite (I'm one of them ).
