I am moving to a Newport Beach office from Boston and I would like some advice on neighborhoods to look at? I would like to be in an area where there are opportunities to meet new people and things to do without having to drive everywhere (which I know I will have to do regardless). I am originally from CA so I am familiar with the area but have never had to look for an apt. out there. I am coming out for a visit in a couple weeks. I would like to be close to Newport Beach and the beach, not inland.

I just don't want to live in a complex or area that is all families but do want a safe area. I am active and plan on joining co-ed soccer team or something along those lines.

Thanks!

What's your rental budget? That, above all, will determine whether your should be looking in Newport Beach, Anaheim, or somewhere in between.

I am spending about $1300 for a one bedroom now and would like to stay in that vicinity.

Well that'll rule out Newport Beach or Irvine for sure. You can find something around that price if you shop around. Try Costa Mesa. $1300 is pretty cheap for OC.

I knew it would be expensive but I wasn't expecting that much more than Boston. I will keep on the search. Thanks.
