No, if I wanted to know where in the world you would choose. I would have made a thread in the world forum. I want to know in which city for people who are in California or have been there.

Between the two I'd pick Newport. Laguna is too isolated feeling and I don't like the idea of living on the edge of a 45 degree slope on a street that's too narrow for cars to pass. Traffic is a major pain down there too. I wouldn't live right on the beach in Newport for similar reasons but the slightly inland parts of Newport are less hectic.

Laguna. I love the isolated feeling, isolated from the rest of cookie cutter, Stepford OC and its endless sea of tract homes and tyrannical HOA neighborhoods. Lots of funky little winding streets and great beaches. Still lots of regular people living there. (by regular, I mean not rich)

I'd live in the Newport Coast development.

I wouldnt pick either of those as 1st choice. 1st would be in SD county for sure.

I do like Newport better.

If I had to choose between the two(neither are near the top of my list), I'd choose on Balboa Island(92661), Newport Coast(92657), or Emerald Bay(92651, but is most of Laguna anyways) areas.
