Speaking as a SoCal native, I love it AND hate it.

I love it so much that after 20 years in San Jose, and 3 1/2 years in Dallas I was convinced I never wanted to live anywhere else in America but OC.

What I hate is how we're being invaded by illegal aliens. I'm sick of houses in my neighborhood being rented out to 20 men who leave their bicycles all over the front lawn, abandon their vehicles on our streets, leave garbage all over the place, and all the other crime and blight that comes with a transient population. Overcrowded houses...it's not just for Santa Ana any more!

We have got to band together and make the courts overturn the INSANE rulings that allow 30.8 people to live in a 1,200 square foot home!!!!!!

I paid $618 for my 1,500 sq ft house in Lake Forest. It's hard to make the mortgage, but crap! At least I don't rent my garage out to 7 dudes to sleep in! If you have to do that to make your sub-prime mortgage, get the hell outa my neighborhood!

If things don't change, I might start looking into moving to Australia.

I hate it - outrageous real estate prices.
