Does anyone live in or around Lake Forest? If so, do you think the city has changed? Is it better or worse?

Thanks for your input.

I don't live there ,but go there regularly to visit a friend. The Altoro area had a major renovating going on ,it used to be run down compared to surrounding cities and didn't maintain the OC image ,now it looks great ...

Lake Forest is a small town. It really hasn't changed much. There are still guys driving around shirtless in their big tonka trucks just like 20 years ago. El Toro Road has changed a lot. The streets are wider, cleaner, more investment.

Hey, I don't mind your kind of transplant!

My husband is a Dallas native. I'm a CA native.

Whereabouts are you thinking of moving? Are you planning to rent? My husband and I bought our first home about 1 1/2 yrs ago, so we have plenty of experience renting. I can certainly help you out with some recommendations if you haven't already signed a lease. There are good parts and bad parts of Lake Forest, and apartments that tend to be more mellow.

Yeah, I'll be renting. I'm graduating college here in a couple weeks and have a job at an accounting firm in Lake Forest off of Bake and the 241 toll road. (I think that's the one?).

These are the apartments I've narrowed down to so far...I will just copy and paste from my Excel spreadsheet... lol

Avalon Santa Margarita $1,225
Avalon Mission Viejo $1,225
Park Ridge Villas - MV $1,295
Trabuco Highlands - RSM $1,199
Prado at Laguna Hills $1,225
Sonterra at Foothill Ranch $1,316
Villas Antonio - RSM $1,325
Avila - RSM $1,295
Cortesia at RSM (studio) $1,270
Camden Crown Valley - MV $1,379
Madrid - MV $1,270
Spring Lakes - LF $1,285
Arboretum at LF $1,250
Westridge - LF $1,200

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Stay away from the Arboretum- rough- lots of theft, noise, crime
Prado's no good either, and a struggle to get up the road to where you'll be working. Westridge, nope.

We lived at Ridgecrest on Lake Forest Rd. $1,475 for a two bedroom. When we left, they were renting out to 15 people in one 900 sq. ft apt.

Let me look into a few of the others for you
