there aren't really many "scenes" independent to orange county, they are all based in LA since orange county is so close. there is a drum and bass monthly in oc called adrenaline that has been kinda on/off this past year. check out myspace.com/adrenalinednb
for dubstep check out SMOG myspace.com/smogla
if you are 21+ there is respect every thursday in hollywood.
and sometimes there are free dubstep shows at the roxy cause of scion. some whole marketing thing they do. but they've gotten good names to play.

You'll want to go to L.A. for dubstep.

Although I understand that the O.C. has some dubstep artists like Druley, amirite?

The dub, jungle. acid house scene is limited at best compared to what I am used to in Boulder Co...that said LA,SF is king in that arena despite what some California outsiders may claim. I spent some time in that scene in the early- mid 90's as a wannabe digital artist, DJ in OC and Boulder..Boulder is on a completely different level, especially considering it's size..Boulder is where the hip meets the trip always was..always will. Ocean Avenue
in Laguna used to be hot..but long since closed to that real scene.

Detroit Bar has (or use to) Dubtroit regulary, a dubstep show. Two of my buddies run DubDorado twice a month at El Dorado down here in SD which features dubstep dj's from so.cal and the country.
