I moved here a few months ago and I finally bought me a Beach cruiser. What I am asking is what are the best ways to get from around 17th st and westcliff down to the Pier on Bike. do I just take the West coast highway onto Newport Blvd. or are there any other shortcuts you can recommend.

And do most bars down by the beach have racks to lock up your bikes.

Thanks,

Thanks,
PCH in that area is more like a freeway in that area, but so is newport blvd until you get south of PCH. be careful either way. and yes, there were plenty of racks down by the pier last time i was there a year or so ago. have fun, but make sure to get a good lock.

Thanks for the info. But are there actual bike paths along the pch and newport blvd. Or are there easier routes to get down to the beach by bike. Any help would be great.
