Does Oregon have any restrictions on bringing in indoor houseplants when moving from another state? I'm talking plants like spider plants, orchids, pothos, a couple indoor cacti, etc.

There's no check-point coming into Oregon. Going into California there are restrictions.

I've never even heard of this. I doubt it.

You cannot bring them into California or Hawaii, I don't know of any other states with restrictions.

California is the biggie that I know of for restricting imports of plants, fruits, and the like... mostly to prevent any plant-borne diseases from coming in.

Yes, Oregon restricts many plants. Unfortunately there does not seem to be a good compiled list.

This one seems most complete: http://www.oregon.gov/ODA/PLANT/docs..._1200.pdf?ga=t

Thanks for the links. Those appear to be outdoor/garden/landscaping plants, not houseplants. I didn't see anything that I have on those lists.

Oh for sure don't bring us any more Engish Ivy or 'pretty yellow' Gorse or Scotch Broom. *Ah-Choo* Welcome to Oregon!

Now I can tell the English Ivy that is continually trying to get into my back door that it is in fact illegal and must cease and desist or it will be arrested. And Scotch Broom? The ragweed of the Pacific Northwest for allergy sufferers.

I have to admit, though, I like butterfly bushes.
