Meth is an Oregon problem and you won't get away from it in Florence if that is what you are asking. Florence is about as crime free as any city.

Meth is a national problem, not just Oregon.

There isn't any "bad" part of town, it isn't that big. Some neighborhoods are obviously higher end, but most neighborhoods is just a general mix of all income levels.

All Oregon coastal towns have a problem with alcohol, drugs, and sex crimes against children.

Sex crimes against children? What is the basis for that claim?

Sadly he is right. The coastal towns have a problem with crimes against children at a higher rate than their valley counterparts.

Sex crimes or domestic violence? Although domestic violence is not limited to families under economic distress I believe it to be more common in that group or among drug users (who are often unemployed).

Both. I was surprised when the police chiefs of both Coos Bay and Reedsport stated the majority of the domestic violence reports led back to meth issues and a large percentage of the child sex crimes were related to meth also. I have no idea where they came up with that, but they are the ones who would know.
