K Falls has been in drought condition for several years. A lot of farmers discovered that their water rights were WAY down the list.

Maybe 40 years ago, when CA started coveting the water in the Columbia River Basin Oregon, Washington and Idaho started the process of documenting water rights.

What concerns me this summer is the risk of forest fires. The Fed lands haven't been thinned in years, there is a lot of undergrowth that will likely be tinder dry before the 4th of July.

Portland may have a problem this summer, depending on rainfall. There is no snowpack on Mt. Hood to feed Bull Run, so Metro may run out of water. The last time it was this bad was 1977, and Portland only had 2 weeks of water left when a rain storm bailed them out. There are another million people tapping that water now.

Columbia flows will be fine, but the Willamette will be a muddy trickle. Cascade streams like the Abiqua and Santiam will be short of water. Coast Range river flows like the Tualatin and Yamhill will be normal.

Ditto Washington. Our governor declared a drought emergency for several parts of the state. 12% off snow pack levels in the Cascades.
