Canada does not want American immigrants. These are just a few of many posts of this type. If you GOOGLE the subject there are many, many more. Canada does not allow people to just hop over the boarder, an applicant for Canadian citizenship has to have the right age, health and something special to offer.

Besides, once the American ex-pats discovered how high Canadian taxes are, they would have a cow.

Also, not everyone who lives in the proposed "Jesusland" is a Christian. Those who aren't, wouldn't want to live in a country that was called that. But I wonder if that means those who are living in places like Portland who voted for Trump would move there and those living in a city like Cleveland where the majority vote went to Hillary would have to move to "The United States of Canada."

This thread wasn't about individual U.S. citizens moving to Canada.

The map with the Jesusland was a joke.

As far as Canada's high taxes, at least they get something in return. Most of America senior citizens won't even be able to afford healthcare after Ryan gets finished raiding Medicare.

This next four years will be a time for reflection AND action. I used to say I was so proud to be an American. What does that mean right now? Could I be Canadian? I think ALOT of us are asking ourselves why we live in a country that has is so divided. My American values are inclusiveness and looking to the future...not our past, which has had some pretty nasty laws that I don't want to revisit. And yes, Ryan can't wait to screw with seniors in this great country. Oh, wait, it's going to be great again.

You could possibly move. Your husband works remote and would keep the same job, right? I think what Canada wants to avoid is people moving there with no income.

My hubby loves Canada. I have always thought I wanted to raise my kids in the US but you know... sometimes I wonder, "why?" but I would have to do way more research on Canada. The idea of a Cascadia( WA, OR, and CA) as a country is tempting.

Canada wants a bunch of disloyal immigrants who flee the minute something doesn't go their way?

If Trump is so bad, I would think those with strong character would not leave his victims behind, but stay and work to save their country, not just bugger off to another country where their views are comfortably and impotently echoed back at them.

Personally, I kind of like the idea of a Republic of Cascadia (OR, WA, northern CA, BC, and possibly ID), but it would probably be a hyper socialist country rather than the more libertarian-leaning state I want. Though if Cascadia were to become a reality, there would certainly be massive migration to and from the rest of the U.S. In the simple scenario of OR and WA leaving, I think a significant percentage of the population (regardless of political leaning) would leave the northwest to stay in the U.S. and quite a few people (100,000s, maybe several million) from other states would likewise move in to be part of a new country. Adding northern CA or BC would make the situation exponentially messier.

Our country was divided years before Nov 8th. The real economic improvement the next 4 years will help bring us together. This election was about the economy, as usual.

YOUR President brought about the divisiveness. You will disagree of course, but so what.
Liberals are now on the outside looking in and that is a good thing!

It will be this way now for years. Obama destroyed your bench. Governorships, House seats, Senate seats, hundreds of state representatives all are now safely in Republican hands. These are training grounds for future leaders. Your party bosses, including Obamy destroyed it for you. Further, the Supreme Court will have a Conservative bias for a generation now, maybe more.

Comments about "inclusiveness" are quaint but your side never ever actually believes, nor acts, on the concept anyway - it is just a simple talking point used to rile up an ignorant mob.

While it is all good for the country at the moment; we also need a robust multiparty system to assure no idealogy beyond constitutional govt' limits takes over.

I find it amazing that the Democrat party continues to destroy itself by allowing Nancy Pelosi to remain House minority leader. Definition of insanity - doing same thing over and over and expecting different results. The destruction of your party will continue unless you start throwing out current leadership.

As stated in earlier post, I hope "Crazyland" does separate from US. It would assure a strong constitution based gov't perhaps for a hundred years!
