How navigable is the Rogue River near the town of Shady Cove?
Do you need a drift boat or can you navigate a boat back to where you put in?
Also, if boating is limited to drifting how much River access is there for bank fishing?

I'm doing research for a place to retire in 3 years and Shady Cove was recommended on a fishing forum.

Some of the folks on www.oregonfishingforum.com or www.ifish.net could give you information on which boats are best to fish the Rogue River.
Some of the members have had good luck over the years catching steelhead & salmon from the bank. Some of the locals used to post about the fish they caught, regularly.

I came here from Ifish fishing forum. I was hoping for a different perspective.
I would like to hear from folks that live in Shady Cove.
