Tenants in the state of Oregon are currently shielded from no cause eviction. Furthermore they are not required to show proof of financial hardship if they decide to stop paying rent. It's my opinion that the executive order should have protected only those people that lost their job as a result of the Coronavirus. Another thing I don't understand about the executive order is that with regular unemployment and the federal enhancement added to it, people are taking home more money than they earned when they were working. So why would they have a problem paying the rent?

Because Oregon UI has been so backed up that many people who have applied for UI havent received it yet. Also.. UI in Oregon is verrrry quick to find SOME kind of reason to deny - even if its not fact... so then a hearing has to be held.. and that takes a further several weeks to a month. Then after the hearing UI has 6 weeks to actually start paying...
