howdy. im purchasing and SLOWLY developing some land in KFFE unit 4 over the next 15-20 years. please refrain from the "do you know what you're getting into?" stuff. I dont need any advice on the harsh winters or billion foot deep wells. plenty of time for me to figure that out and im already a hardened mountain person so it should be easier for me than say..that guy from nyc who buys sight unseen and thinks there will be pay phones and stuff...

how is the town of Bonanza compared to sprague river, beatty, etc... as far as crime, white trash drama, etc...? pretty nice little town to go get a bite to eat and pick up some basic supplies (bread, beer, basic medical supplies, that kind of thing)? i realize ill OCASSIONALLY have to trip into k falls for stuff but as a retired guy i plan to stay out of that hell hole as much as possible. so do i want to get to know Bonanza or just avoid it all together? im a small town loving guy and hope to be able to get to know the town and enjoy what it may have to offer when i head in. thanks, guys.

Bly has about 500 people and seen a modest decline recently. Average age is about 60.

Bonanza has about 650 and has been increasing at a pretty good clip (by about 200 since 2010). Average age just under 40.

Official crime is below average in Bly and even lower in Bonanza but they don't get a lot of sheriff time and crime may be under-reported.

Both places have fairly low average incomes. Bonanza lower than Bly.

The other places are smaller I believe. There may be data out there on them but I didn't dig further for it.

There are a few other threads on the area here with a few "local" posters. But they are either sporadic / fairly private posters or in some cases don't stay long or don't go thru with plans to move there.

thanks for the nice honest reply. ive seen some good posts on the topic and a lot of those replies i think youre talking about where they go nowhere cause the person never moved out there. anyway i appreciate it. most of the posts ive seen were more about sprague river and chiloquin so that helps.
