I have some nasty people whom the Oregon courts ordered to pay me over $10,000. One has a house in Montana and the other in Texas. Does the court judgement allow me to lien their real estate in these states?

In my limited experience, you can take a judgment issued in one state and apply it in another. Your best best would be to contact an attorney in the state where you want to file a lien and have the attorney do it for you (or advise that you can't in that particular state)

There are only certain things that can be placed as liens on personal property. You need to check those individual state laws and see if you can place a lien on their property.

Bendite is right that you need to hire two attorneys, one for each state, and find out what you can and can't do.

Just because you have a judgment award of 10,000 doesn't mean you can apply real estate lien against the property, it is best to consult with the laws of the states these people live in. In most cases real estate liens are exempt from personal property liens again this is subject to state law. Oregon laws DO NOT apply to Montana or Texas. Personal property liens are best aquired in the state that the person lives in.
