I am transferring with my company and i need some advice on decent areas to live in orlando. My office will be in south orlando and i have no clue as to what kind of neighborhood it is. My limit is about 1100 for a 3 bedrom apt if this is even possible. i live in chicago right now and pay 1200 for a 2 BR 1 Bath apt so i am hoping orlando is less expensive. Can anyone give any advice on areas close to south orlando that are safe. I have a 13 year old daughter so safety is a huge concern for me. I would rather something more along the lines of the suburbs.

Thanks

Downtown Orlando is nice and it's close to all the major toll roads (making getting to work from anywhere easier.) You should be able to find a small house for $1100 a month. The Waterford Lakes area is really nice and again close to toll roads. These two parts of town may be a little pricer but they will also offer shopping, dining and entertainmet. I hope you love it here!

I agree with Hunters Creek, although I'm not sure about getting a 3BR apartment in that price range there.

The prices for apt rentals have come down in the past year with the weaker market all around. I remember seeing some rentals in that range in the past year with the promos they were throwing in.

My wife and I are giving a lot of thought to relocating to the Orlando area as well. We currently live in Gurnee, IL. I've been looking at Apartments.com and it seems there are 3 bedroom apartments to be had for that price range or under depending on where you are looking.
