Do you think the home values will ever come back here? I see more and more foreclosures everyday in this creepy, crime town. Foreclosures are being bought out by not so good elements of people.
To sell now or wait? I have seen better prices on homes in much nicer, safer areas of Florida.

I'm actively house hunting and won't even consider a house in Deltona, for all the reasons you state.

I've lived in Deltona for 30 years and I love Deltona. That being said, tho, we're also thinking of buying a home elsewhere and possibly selling or renting this one. Our immediate neighborhood is still nice but just a couple blocks away there are more foreclosures every single day and empty homes, rentals that aren't kept up, etc. Deltona also has a huge german roach and a rat problem---that's what my exterminator told me--tho I don't have a problem, he told be to be very careful buying at garage sales, etc.

omg *shudders*. I believe it. About a year ago, a handyman who worked for my property manager told me about a house he'd just bought in Deltona. A 3/2 with a pool, for $70k. He said the real estate agent refused to walk around in the house with him, because it had a lot of dead rats and roaches etc in it. He was very happy about the deal he got, though, since he'd been living in a trailer up to then, and he was a fix-it guy and didn't mind doing the work.

YEah thats right it does have a rat and roach problem! Everyone I know has this issue. Id stay far away from Deltona. It sucks Im afraid to put my son in school here and thats one of the reasons we are leaving the area. The people here are nasty and there is alot of breakins, home invasions, vandilism. The people here are so bored and have nothing else to do but steal everyones belongings. I had a hard plastic childs pool on the side of my house and some one stole it! My area has alot of car thefts and breakins. The children run the streets and fight. Its aweful.I can hardly wait to get out of here!
