We really miss Chinese food. We had excellent Chinese food in NJ. When we moved to NC it was just awful. We have not had any decent Chinese food in a little over 3 yrs. now. Where is your "best" Chinese food?

^ You're looking in the wrong part of town. Orlando has a sizable Viet population centered around Colonial & Mills (just east of DT Orlando). The Vietnamese food is so authentic that even the "VN" nail place near my house recommends it!! However there is one prominent
Chinese place in that area that I've been too and loved almost as much as Canal Street in Manhattan:
Chan's Chinese . My advice would be to drive down there and look around first for a hole in the wall Chinese. If you cannot find it, either take a gamble (that pays mad dividends) on Viet Cuisine or Chan's

For to-go chinese I always get Pine Garden in Waterford Lakes (next to Quiznos) but all I ever get there is the fried rice and maybe a General Tso.

I know there is a Kobe Japanese Steakhouse over there. If it is like the one on Kirkman, it will have a side restaurant called "Little China" attached to it that serves the stuff you usually see in Chinese restaurants but with more elegance.

Whether in FL and NC, you're gonna get the American version of it. Got to go to the areas where they live (like mentioned above) to get the good stuff.

That's true. There was this ABC report on the front of Yahoo that said that fortune cookies are not even Chinese. There was a factory making them and sending them all over the world, but none of them were going to China.
