Hey guys,

I read a couple of threads about this, but I'm still not sure, I will be driving to Miami tomorrow (Wednesday) and I was thinking that maybe I-95 could be a little slow due to thanksgiving? what do you guys think?

I will be leaving at 7am and hope to reach Miami international airport around 11:30 - 12:30

I never heard of people being slowed down on I-95 but still want to know what's my best choice.

Thank you,

Spd19

I'm not sure how much better it'll be, but I've always taken the Florida Turnpike to Miami. It's usually clear but I'm not sure how it'll be on Thanksgiving.. but being a toll road, I would imagine it would be better.

The turnpike will be faster than I-95 pretty much always, not just because there's less traffic but because it's less distance. One thing you can do to save on the tolls is to take the turnpike to Ft.Pierce(exit 152 on the turnpike) and grab I-95 there south to Miami.I've done this drive hundreds of times and I've done every way possible, beachline to I-95 south,192 to I-95,the split turnpike/I-95 I mentioned earlier,US 27 etc..But if what you want is to get there fast take the turnpike.

i-95 Lol From Orlando? This has to be a turkey joke. Plain and simple take the turnpike. Although I-95 is more scenic, but is a TRAFFIC NIGHTMARE on normal days.

I did the reverse driving from Miami to Orlando the day before Thanksgiving once and it took us over 6 HOURS to get Orlando! Avoid I-95 at all costs and take the Turnpike!

agree with that suggestion, although I-95 traffic gets worse every year. If you want to be ultra-safe, taking the turnpike all the way in to south FL is probably your best bet.
