Hello out there,

I am considering relocating to Longwood, very specifically within a 5 mile radius of Sabap Point Elementary School. I am open to advice or suggestions. I am on disability, but I am working part-time right now as Substance Abuse Counselor. What is housing like? I prefer house apts opposed to apt complexes. I hope to find full-time work and ideally get off of disability.

Thanks

Sabal is a pretty pricey area, the 30 year old homes start in the low 300s. The newer townhomes and condo conversions start around 250.

My wife and I live in Sabal Woods right behind Sabal Point Elementary. Our daughter is currently in 2nd grade and loves it. In my opinion, it is the best free private school (because its public) your child can go to. The nieghborhood is peaceful. It was the best investment we ever made.
I grew up in Orange County (Orlando). The school system in Seminole is way better and much safer.

Hi there. I also live in Sabal Point and have 1 child in elementary at Sabal Point Elementary and 1 in high school at Lyman. I love the schools and the neighborhood is beautiful and well kept (especially for an older neighborhood). We have a few jerks who have no regard for children (although they have kids--go figure) and fly through our street, but that could be anywhere. We moved here 1 1/2 years ago and were a little shocked by the pretentiousness in the Sabal/Sweetwater area. We've met some really great people, but also a lot of people who think they're too good for you. We moved from the other side of Longwood, but we felt like we moved to the other side of the world! But, all in all, my kids are happy and they are benefiting greatly by our move because of the schools. So, for us, since our kids are happy, it's been a worthwhile move! Good luck with your search...

If you are sincere about the Longwood area, our realtor Kim Best was and still is wonderful. She still (after almost 3 years) keeps in touch with us and remembers our daughter's birthday every year. She knows the seminole county area well, since she has lived here for years. She is highly professional and NOT PUSHEY. If you are interested, her number is 407-474-9210.

Default Longwood

Thanks everyone! Now my next question. Jobs....I am a certifed substance abuse counselor. I am checking the out the places that offer SAB Treatment, but wonder if I can afford to live there. The salary is pretty low 30-35 thousand...What is the cost of living like? Are there affordable apartments? I will need a two bedroom. Does anyone know what the rents are like?

thanks again

Sabal Point seems to have some nice 2/2b condos for around 100K. Don't know how much HOA are though. Good luck.

im thinkng she is wanting info on places to rent, not purchase. I deal with the resale more so, I work with rentals when it comes to homes and condos but wouldnt be of help for the apartmetns you asked about. perhaps others in here live in some nice ones or have friends/family that do. Good luck.

Thank you for your responses. I rent a house now, are there houses, small houses for rent in that area?
