I'm going to be potentially transferring to lake nona for work in the fall. I have a great dane who is a certified therapy dog and two black labs ...what r my chances of finding a 3 bedroom rental for $1000-1200/month in a family friendly school district. I have a 2&6 yr old ???
I just don't want to buy until I know the area
Thanks
Jenny

My advice would be to check Craig's List relentlessly. We lucked out and found a great 3BR/2BA house with a fenced in yard for $1000 in Davenport, and the landlord is a very nice lady who doesn't mind that we have two large dogs and a parrot, doesn't care if we paint, plant flowers, etc. But, this was after literally months of looking for someplace reasonably priced and calling dozens of places. It can be done, but you might have to put in quite a bit of effort.

I too would recommend checking out Craigslist, remembering two things. If it looks to good to be true it probably is...and before signing a lease/getting serious ask for a letter of good standing from the homeowner's mortgage lender. There have been quite a number of distressed homeowners who have rented out their homes that have actually been foreclosed on. As suggested above, you'll do better with a house and a yard than a standard-issue apartment complex where you won't be able to let the dogs out into a fenced yard (ideally) plus complexes are quite unlikely to allow three large dogs. I'm sending you some listings in nice areas (safe, family friendly and good schools) as examples of where to look. Hope it helps!
