Have found FL works for us. Good luck. Oviedo is a nice town.

May be transferring to work at Orlando airport, looking at renting a 3/2 townhouse and would rather live in more suburban/rural area but not too far from the airport, any suggestions on where to start looking?

That is a tuff one. There are so many places close enough to the Airport, but the only good way would be for you to rent somewhere first. This way you can see for yourself where you would like to live. Stay away from the two gas station's on 436 closest to the airport.
Read the Orlando Sentinel, watch any local TV station's or if your up to a good laugh. Stop in and look at the price on the pumps. LOL

Do you speak Spanish?
No racist comment's Please. I am half Puerto Rican & half Irish.
So Please no negative comments.
The reason I ask because in some neighborhood's that is the prevalent Language and if you don't speak it you'll have a harder time fitting in.
Avalon Park, which isn't far from the airport, other then traffic was a very nice area, well anyway the last time I drove though there there were still some very nice places to live. Bargains galore.
We almost moved there but for us it would of been to far from work.
There is a glut of cheap housing and condo's all over that area.
Depending on how much you want to travel Celebration the town Disney started is another place I would definitely consider.

PLUS if you like photography or RC car's and models up on Mills Ave is a place called Colonial Photo & Hobbies.
Harmon Photo a little north of them is not as large but can be a good choice too.
Happy Neighborhood hunting.

Default just moved to oviedo about 3 months ago...

We moved from Southeastern Virginia to Oviedo about 3 months ago and LOVE it! We definitely don't regret the decision at all.

On the map it looks like Oveido is kind of far from the expressways... is traffic a nightmare if you are driving into Orlando to work?
