I just bought my first home in East Orlando (Hooray!). There are many projects that will need to be tackled but my first priority is getting a fence put up so my children can play out back.

This being my first home I have no idea where to start or how much this might cost me. The yard is not very big..the entire property is less than 1/4 acre and I only want to fence the back. There are so many contractors listed out there I guess I'm just hesitant of picking some random company from the Yellowpages. Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Check out Mossy Oak Fence. I just went through a bidding process for our Association's fencing and they were competitively-priced as well as professional and as a result won out for the project.

check BBB

Mine cost about $7K for the backyard only and the fence is fine but I wasn't happy with the shrub damage done.

So if you check BBB you will see if any complaints

7K was Mossy Oak's quote for 583 feet of 6 foot board-on-board fencing, assembled and installed on-site. I'm guessing you'll not need anywhere near that. It sounds like theoldnorthstate was robbed unless he/she has a ginormous backyard.

Vinyl is more expensive but shouldn't be that much more!

I was worried about the HOA as well but after I drove around the neighborhood I saw all kinds of fences...so I'm guessing they don't have a policy on what type of fence you can have. Think I will call them just in case.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

We got ours done last year and I called 7 different people. Fence Outlet was by far the cheapest and had the best warranty, lifetime.

Our neighborhood has both wood and vinyl but now only accepts vinyl. The wood fences are grandfathered in but eventually they will have to paint them white. IMO, vinyl will last longer and need much less maintenance.
