Pio Pio is GREAT latin food but not really island food, more South American. And amazingly some of the best latin food I've had has been from the Sedanos Supermarket deli section off Semoran and Curry Ford.

Have you tried Vega's on East Colonial? I agree Cuban's On The Run is pretty good in terms of originality so to speak, but felt Vega's was pretty close to what I remember from growing up in the Miami area.

Let me know if you do find a place, cause I've yet to. People will tell you the best subs can be found at Publix, but to be honest, I think Jersey Mike's (chain, I know, I know) makes a pretty damn good sub considering.

You'll also be hard pressed to find the bread you're looking for to accompany said Chicken Cutlet, Fresh Mozz, Roasted Red Peppers Sandwich.

That being said, Delish in Dr Phillips has their bagel dough made in NY, boiled, then shipped down here for baking. They're pretty legit.

You mean you actually have to look for great ethnic food and that it doesn't pop out at you the way a green and yellow Pollo Tropical sign does... Who knew?

They are easy enough to make yourself, I'd go that route.

What is the quality of the food at Golden Corral?
Pig Slop. Seriously, some of the grossest "food" I've ever had in my life. Everything tasted like deep fried flour.

Are there any good Spanish or Cuban style restaurants in Orlando, looking for some good paella or roast pork dishes.

Thanks.
Columbia comes to mind. Don't discount the food trucks, either.

Eating at Golden Corral is like pouring a salt shaker straight into your mouth. Everything is very salty.

The atmosphere (gack) is lacking. If you like crowded and noisy, it might be for you. If you like getting up from your table and elbowing your way up to the buffet over and over, then go for it.

If you want good food, a relaxing experience, and basically the same price, then try any normal sit down place. GC is not that cheap IMO, unless you are 300 lbs and just need to eat 15 plates.

We ate there last night with an out of town visitor. They're good! I had the tri-tip sandwich.
