I've been a Y member for years. I used to go to the Y on Oak Ridge. The times I would go, the place was pretty crowded and it seemed the people that used that facility didn't know the meaning of "working-in" on the Cybex machines. They only had one circuit there as well. I've been going almost exclusively to the Y on Mills the last couple of years. It's a nice facility but it is a MUCH longer distance for me and many times I'm just not up to the drive after dinner. I've been thinking about the 24-hr Fitness gym on S. Orange Ave as I pass there a lot. I've never been in there but I think I would like to give it a shot. Rather than having to go through a sales pitch right away, is there anyone who either has used 24-hr Fitness or is a member now that can give an opinion?

I LOVE 24 Hour Fitness. I was a member of the Y for years. Although DP why down on Dr. Phillips BLVD is cetainly a major upgrade over Oak Ridge Y. Oak Ridge is crowded yes. 24 Fitness is decent though.

The Y on DP Blvd is also quite a distance from me as well. I wish they had made the Y on Oak Ridge 2-story when they refurbished it. Having that gym open to the machine and treadmill area makes it very noisy and crowded when there is something going on in the gym, such as basketball. I'll give the 24-Hr Fitness place a look-see on my next day off. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't anyone that thought the place was terrible.
