in waterford lakes, a house was broken into in broad daylight. and another home in the same area was broken into, again in broad daylight, and the homeowner confronted him. he pulled up to his driveway and noticed a vehicle was parked in his driveway instead. he should have called the cops but instead tried to handlw thw situation in his own. he was attacked by a crow-bar (sp?). again in broad daylight.

close to avalon park, in timber springs area, a puerto-rican man was harrassing a female, and possibly trying to get her into his vehicle. she was very upset, and it seemed as if the man wasnt trying to help her as if to tell her she had a flat tire, or anything of the sort. the woman called her boyfriend during this exchange, and the man must have taken off so he wouldnt get caught/confront the boyfriend waiting outside of his house. he was following her and possibly trying to get her into his vehicle.

this folks, is happening in nice neighborhoods. it is getting a little too close for comfort.

Wow. what is the world coming to? The criminals are trying to break into nice homes? Why would they do that? By the way, they caught the idiots who broke into the man's home in Waterford. They had their cell phone with them. In the tussle with the homeowner, they both dropped their cell phones and the bad guy picked up the wrong phone. Then ran off and left their phone with the homeowner!!! LOL

The police didn't have a difficult time tracking them down at all. They are history.

Burglary is a very, very common crime in "nice" neighborhoods nationwide. The attacks are not. I noticed this kind of thing happening in the nice, new parts of Palm Beach County too. This was happening out here where I am at this frequency 10 years ago, when we were at a similar growth stage. It's growing pains.

Interesting that one of the homes had "large amount of narcotics" found inside.
Sounds like this is a problem that relates to more that break-ins, drugs are also involve in the article that I was reading.

Regardless, burglaries are almost always planned, be it in Orlando, Ponte Verda Beach, Pembroke Pines, Newark, Oviedo, Anaheim, or Detroit, or at day or night. The United States, as a matter of fact, the U.S is not only home to Burger King, but is the "Burglar King", leading the world in burglary and home invasion. This burglary on the other hand was a real exception due to the violent nature of the burglars. This particular story is very disturbing, but unfortunately hardly unique to Orlando.

Burglary Prevention Council - Home Protection Guide - Introduction
Quote:
These days, just about everyone has a relative or acquaintance who has been burglarized.

In fact, statistics indicate that three out of four U.S. homes will be burglarized in the next 20 years. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the average property loss in a burglary exceeds $1,000, not to mention the damage from vandalism.

The Burglary Prevention Council (BPC), a national organization dedicated to the prevention of residential burglaries, has developed this guide to help keep you informed on how to keep your home safe from intruders.

Enhancing the security of your residence is much easier that you think. Keep in mind that the time you spend now may save you thousands of dollars in the long run.
