I find it very strange that I'm having to constantly clean mold growing in my toilets. I haven't had to deal with this anyplace else I've lived. It hasn't been this way the whole time I've lived in Groveland; just the past 2-3 months or so. Shouldn't there be something in the water supply that is killing these microbes? Is there anybody else on this forum having the same problem? Or is it possible that something is entering the pipes between the water treatment facility and my home to cause this?

It's not the water, it's the humidity. I have the same problem, it was resolved by leaving the lids up instead of closed.

When I stayed out there I think it was a common problem. We had very minor issues.

Thanks, Anne, I hadn't thought of that. We do leave the toilet seats down, partly because we think it looks nicer, and partly because our cat (not our dog, our CAT) likes to drink out of the toilet despite having three bowls of water at his disposal at all times!

I agree, it doesn't look as nice, but it's better than the mold. My dog who recently passed loved toilet water even though she had plenty of fresh water at her disposable--we just kept the bathroom doors closed to keep her out. The dog that I still love wouldn't be caught dead in a bathroom let alone drinking from a toilet. He's very particular, he won't even drink from a strange bowl!
