Hi,

I have a possible job offer in the UCF area and another less possible one in Winter Park proper. I know Orlando, but only west side from a few years ago (moving from Tampa Bay), and I am really getting confused about where to go. Looking to rent for a young family. Prices seem about same; getting more expensive as you got towards Waterford and Avalon - 1k to 1.5k for a small house or townhouse. Baldwin park a little too pricey for me.

Schools seem good on paper all through area from WP, up to Seminole (south county) over to Waterford area.

I need too know about the 'feel' though. I like the shiny and new the further east you go, but WP seems more of a community (ppl say anyway) and East is more transient.

Looking at Goldenrod Howell Branch RD area, Suncrest Villas, and maybe Waterford lakes.

Advice???

I lived in the East Side of Orlando for 8+ years in Waterford/Avalon Park area, yes it is very transient. If the job is near UCF, Oviedo would be a good choice with good schools and it may give you that "community" feel. WP is very very nice, but much pricier ( if you want something nice) compared to East Orlando.

Default Ok

Thanks. I don't get it though; rent the same in all areas, but houses more in Waterford area as opposed to East WP tp purchase $120k in Eastbrooke to over $250 in waterford. But took a look at sex offender map for the heck of it, and OMG all over the places in WP / south Seminole and basically non-existent in Waterford area???

Whatever you do, don't do Waterford Lakes. You will thank me later.
