Hello all. I've lurked through these forums for a while but felt the need to post.

I recently landed a job with a company in downtown Orlando. I visited a place called Wisper Palms near Waterford Lake town center while I was there a few weeks ago. I'm in my 20s, looking for a one bedroom apartment for less than $800 a month. I'd like a place that is a gated complex, but if it's in a safe neighborhood, that's not necessary...

I'd like something similar to what I've seen in Waterford Lake...but I don't mind living somewhere else as long as it takes 30 minutes or less to get into downtown.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a neighborhood?

If I were to work in Downtown I would prefer to live Downtown. The commute to Waterford from downtown isnt the mos terrible mostly because you would take the 408, But I would still opt for some place closer to Downtown. If you are set on Waterford go for it, there are tons of College kids in the area. If you are not go with somewhere in Downtown or North, East, and South of it avoid the West.

It'll be hard to find an apartment in downtown for less than $800 month, though... although I've seen some 1 and 2 bedroom houses in the milk district for that and you can sometimes find garage apartments downtown for that... or maybe a studio or 1 bedroom in an older building somewhere.

Search 32801 and 32803... if that turns up nothing, try 32806... if still nothing, THEN look at Waterford.
