Hello!

We are considering a move to Windermere.

We have two children, ages 8 and 10.

They love to create art, love animals and the ocean. I think they will end up in an animal-related field someday, probably conservation, rescue, working with a non-profit.

I understand there is school choice in Florida, so I'm wondering if there is a school that might be a better fit for them?

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I could be wrong, but but I believe public school choice is limited to magnet programs, charter schools and the like- there's not a huge variety when it comes to elementary programs but almost every high school seems to have a magnet program. Here's a list of current magnet programs: https://www.ocps.net/cs/services/opt...s/default.aspx

Windermere has some of the best schools in the county, so it might not be worth it to take them out of the school district.

Just a thought but 8 and 10 year olds will generally change what they want to do in life many times before they actually get to the point of choosing a college or trade school that gets them where they want to be in life.

I would suggest just choosing an all around good academic school rather than trying to steer them at this point.

My kids loved drawing and animals at a young age also and right now one is in college for business management, one is going for pharmacy and another also heading for the medical field, tossed up on which way she will go but will decide when she gets to that point.
