Those are almost exclusively burglaries, although it looks like there are way more than there should be...

Thanks for the website info. The development I live in Cypress Bend has 4 police cars at three different homes at least 2 of the four are home every day of the week. But some of the neighbors still break the law by riding trail bikes on the street setting up large skateboard ramps blocking the road and shooting off huge fireworks on New Years.I guess when they are off duty they are OFF DUTY.We get some big dudes cutting through from the housing project on Avalon Pkwy, if you say anything to them they threated you of curse you than they climb over the fence to the trailer park and just stroll away.We havent had any homes or cars robbed in the 4 months we have been here, but 2 blocks away there was a home robbed. Glad I am home almost all the time {retired}.I keep a lookout for the houses on our street. When we had some kids spray paint gang signs on the cement drain for the pond the police said they were gang wanta bees they did not know the correct number of peaks on a latin kings crown. I say if they know about the latin kings or ms 13 or any other gang we have a problem.

Thumbs down Crime in 32828 and 32829

Anyone who states that UCF students don't contribute to crime should live close to them. I moved twice due to noise problems and thought I finally moved into a quiet neighborhood at the end of Dean Road called Victoria Pines. First professional people lived here and it was very quiet and a pleasure to live here and than the first UCF students moved in and the neighborhood turned to hell. Condo's were broken into, constant yelling, screaming and gathering in the streets at 2 or 5 am. Boom boxes blaring at all hours of the night and no regard for any of the other residents. My daughters went to Miami University in Ohio and were not aloud to live of campus the first two years. What a difference. I see UCF as a total party school, since they students seem to only ravel and party at all hours of the night and a school were south American drug dealers drop of their kids to get babysat. I don't think we should have to tell these people over and over every night to get out of the streets and go inside since it is 3 am and to stop breaking beer bottles in the street. I would suggest to teach a class 101 How to be a human being and live in society at UCF since most of the students seem to have never mastered any of it. To let 35 000 students on the loose to terrorize neighborhoods is a disgrace. After having lived on the east side of Orlando I have learned that UCF students stand not for education but party, drink and orgies. Delta girls screaming around all night and the only words they seem to have mastered start with F...Intellectuals , you be the judge! Its a disgrace to any of the good higher education colleges who are an asset to society and not a total detriment as these students who totally disregard the rights of others. The sheriff does nothing in Orange County against students, does not even come when called since his brother is the sheriff for UCF. Crime is totally out of hand on the east side in this city and so are the crazy drivers who barrel down on us from the college. I never seen anything like it and can't wait to get back to civilization. Driving around here is almost like the Middle East or San Juan where there are no medians or traffic laws being obeyed. Welcome to Orlando home of the hooligans.....Can't wait to get back to real Southern hospitality since it certainly does stop at the GA border....and as for the cops a guy smashed bottles right in the street in front of the cops and the cop said he was off duty and just lived here. He drove in a police car paid for by the tax payers and had a uniform on, but that tells the tale what seems to be a major problem here..no enforcement of ordinances and the governor now cut the traffic court funds, guns are allowed to be taken into the work places and soon one can say welcome to the Wild West......except Wild Earp is off duty...

Look..it's real simple. East and Westside of Orlando suck. They never have been great. You live near a University like UCF, this is what happens. It's really unfortunate, but thats how it is here. There just are not a lot of great areas in Orlando to live, but when you get in a good one, it's awesome. So basically feast or famine IMO. I have lived here over 20 years. I am not sure if I will stay forever, but I do know that Avalon is not going to get any better. And I lived out there for a bit. I HATED IT.

well i live in 32817..right off Univeristy..near Hall rd....and my neighborhood is wonderful...no problems whatsoever, great families, and I have been here for 13 years....I don't think its fair to judge a section of Orange Co based off the problems it may be having....I agree with other posters...step up and make a difference in your community...or simply put a stop to being a target...Lock your doors and set your alarm...easy things to do that would prob deter a lot of criminal activity. I love this side of town and am moving over to 32828 (off Timber Springs Bvld)...and am very excited about it. Crime is everywhere...I was going to move to Lake Nona b/c of the aspect of no crime!! yeah then they had the armed robbery in the 24/hr gate gaurded community...crime is everywhere...so just love where you live and do what you can to keep it safe...if we all give up...we might as well just all start commiting crimes and join the bandwagon.
