Does anyone know why they scan your index finger print a Seaworld?

We went a couple weeks ago and wondered why?

Is it for when people who get a 2 day ticket so they can't let someone else use the second day?

We took my mom and we all got 2 day tickets, she can't go the second day so we wanted to bring a friend but started to wonder if the finger scan would say no match and not let my wife's friend use the ticket.

Anyone know?

Andy

Thanks for the info Keeper. That is what I thought it was for.. to verify identity. I do not have a problem with it because it is not scanning my finger print but the shape of my finger. They make my kids do it too which i find odd.. but they think it is cool so I don't care.

LivinInTheLanding - I have not heard about them doing it for 2 day passes...that must be new. It is probably because of all the scammers buying them and reselling the second day. I remember a few years ago my family came to town and bought 5 day passes and only used 4 and we used the last day and did not have a problem. I guess they are trying to eliminate that from happening.

FYI - my sister and I have switched passes (to Sea World) just to see what would happen and we got in fine but maybe it is just because our fingers are a lot alike?
