me, my wife and our 11 and 8 year old girls are planning on moving this June/July. She is a paralegal and im a auto body tech and auto painter for living. Her firm may be transferring her or she is gonna be looking for another, I get 3-7 emails and see that many CL ad's a day for auto body and painting so i think im good for a job, i have over 15 years in field. Anyways, We were there for a week in condo in Lake Nona. area is awesome , then we visited Avalon Park area which i loved at least near downtown, and i hear schools are good there. But what is it i read here that some parts of Avalon Park are bad? Also what are other areas that have great schools, and similar to Avalon Park and rent 3 bedroom house or town house is under under $1400.00 a month? we will be back down in February for more exploring and deciding. Thanks and great forums here for info from real people!

A lot of families like the Seminole County area (just northeast of Orlando) because of the top-rated public schools (within the top 5 school districts in the state) and it's lower crime/family-friendly feel. Bear in mind there isn't a whole lot like Avalon Park which is a pop-up planned community, but plenty of nice options in good neighborhoods.

You can find several nice houses for approx. $1200/month.
I consider Lake Nona to be a little bit "out there", but I guess it's the "new" place to be in Orlando, and people seem to like it.
I'm more fond of Seminole County in general (Lake Mary, Altamonte Springs, Winter Springs, Apopka, Longwood).

If you're an auto painter, you should have NO issues finding a job. There is a rather large demand for that, with very few qualified to do the job.
Generally speaking, however, wages stink. Keep that in mind.
