I'm getting ready to move to the area and I haven't ever been there, so I was just wondering.

I think it might be a good idea to do a little investigating before you move somepace. Florida isn't for everyone.
I live about 30 miles outside of Orlando, I love it here but like I said, not everyone does.

Make sure you can afford the things like housing and you can find a job in your field and you should be OK. Of course keep the weather in mind. I LOVE the weather here but again, its not for everyone. I consider the warm temps a nice think whether it be the winter or summer, even with the hurricanes thrown in. I can't take the cold.

I am from and currently live in Oklahoma. I hate the cold weather here. I have a cousin that I will be staying with, so if I don't like it I can always leave.

Well if you move here you're going to learn to hate summers here, I guarantee that. Also be prepared for a huge culture shock. Also brush up on your spanish skills, when you get robbed you will understand what dinero and pistolero mean.

I don't know any Spanish. Yeah I'm sure it will be a culture shock. Hopefully I will get used to it.

It's too commercial. I can't stand the cheesiness of it all. Everything there is stamped with a Disney logo. Okay, so I may be exaggerating (a bit) but I live in Florida and I can sense the 'Disney' presence in Orlando even if I'm not in the vicinity of the theme parks. I love visiting but I'm not a fan of making my way through throngs of tourists to make my way home. I'm sure all of Orlando is NOT like this but you're more likely to run into that sort of thing there than most other places.

Well you're gonna wait along time, I'm telling it like it is. I don't have to prove any city is better or worse. I know Orlando/Kissimmee, he wants to know how it is HERE, nowhere else, so I tell him. He didn't post in NY, TX, CA, he posted in Orlando.

Responses like this should be taken with a grain of salt. The same people on these boards just assume everyone will feel the way they do about the heat. Maybe this person loves warm humid weather; but you just guarantee he'll hate it. These types of posts are so redundant and boring. Why not add some value if you're going to speak out.
