We are looking to relocate to the Mount Dora Area. We like quaint downtowns with shops and restaurants and parks and places to walk with natural beauty. We are familiar with Mount Dora just wondering how Eustis compares. Any info on the vibe there would be much appreciated!

I don't find Eustis nearly as pretty as Mt. Dora. Take a look at the Google streetview of downtown Eustis.. there are hardly any trees. It looks very barren compared to Mt. Dora which is covered in huge live oaks. I've lived in both, but it's been a few years since I've been to Eustis. They do have an event in downtown Eustis the first Friday of every month which was always fun.

I agree with the post above, Mount Dora by far. If you're looking for another comparison point you might also look at Tavares which has developed it's downtown area and has plans for more. It has a different vibe than Mount Dora, but worth looking at perhaps. What To Do In Tavares, Florida -- The Online Visitor's Information Center for Tavares, Florida - America's Seaplane City

Mount Dora BY FAR.
I live there, by the way. Been there for a while. There is always something going on downtown, and the shops, restaurants and bars there never really get old.

I'm always surprised by the random events going on. Last week, I took Friday off because I was sick, and my 3 year old son was also sick so he skipped daycare. We went to the lighthouse by the lake and were treated to a random blues concert at the park on the other side. Things like this are the norm, and they make living here very enjoyable.
