Although I was born in Orlando, I don't remember it in the least bit. I'm moving back this summer and have heard mixed things about the Union Park area. Some say it's ghetto (which I don't exactly mind) whereas others say it's a super safe and great place to raise a family. What are your thoughts on it?

It's not the ghetto of Orlando, but it's not a super safe family friendly area either. If you have a family, I would avoid this area. Go a little further east to Waterford, or further south of 408 to the Dean/Curry Ford area.

Been in the area nearly 20 years. Personally have never had any problem with crime/safety. Always see plenty of kids and folks in their 60s+ going on evening strolls and nobody seems highly concerned. It’s not Beverly Hills but there’s many many other areas of Orlando where i wouldn’t feel at ease walking around after dark.

That's one of those neighborhoods were people drive loud cars. Honda Civic with the cherry bomb exhaust. It sounds like a bomb detonated if you've never heard one before. If you don't mind constant loud noise late at night you'll be fine in that hood. But that's most of Orlando is like so you will hear that in other places too. So it's all good. Might as well live there.
