Hello everyone!

My fiancee and I may be moving to Orlando early October or late November and I was hoping you fine people could help us out. He has an interview with Florida Hospital next week and if hired he would be starting mid October. I'm not sure what the area is called but the location is off Rollins Street near the Orlando Science Center.

Can anyone suggest a nice, safe neighborhood for us? Budget is $800/month but can be a little flexible with it. Looking for 2 bedroom and 2 baths, preferably with washer and dryer in the unit and would like to keep our commute to around 15-20 minutes but this is also flexible. We have a small 35 pound dog as well. I've seen some nice apartments but I don't want to schedule anything yet until he does his interview and we can go from there. Hopefully this isn't impossible and we can find something. School system doesn't matter as we don't have children.

Thank you for all the help!

Thats very low for any good areas nearby. You should consider spending $900-$1000 and look in College Park, Audubon Park and Colonialtown.

While I definitely agree with those areas being the best, (I myself would move to any of them in a second, if only I could afford them ), you will be hard-pressed to find anything under $1200 for a 2 bedroom around them. Rentals in Orlando have gotten extremely expensive, especially in those more desirable neighborhoods. If you can't extend your budget quite that high, then you might want to look north, to Maitland, Casselberry, or even Altamonte Springs; or possibly south towards SODO (south of downtown). These areas might bring a longer commute; however, they are not as trendy so it's a bit easier to find slightly lower prices.

you can go bit further out from Hospital you can make that- but not such nice places. I have not rented in Orl. but in Tampa I had one bed with washer/dry hook up- $815 --2 yrs ago- get the online rent sites and just see Craigslist for ideas.
