Anyone ever notice the way crime news is presented on Orlando news 13? If there is a crime with a Black or Hispanic person involved, you will see their mugshots up on the screen for a full 5-7 seconds. When the news story is about crimes committed by white persons, you see pictures of their house, the places where the crime took place , everything else except their mugshots.

Instead of attempting to portray the area as something it is not, educate yourself and look up the crime stats behind many of the most headline-grabbing incidents.

OP, look up some stats. This may give you some insight on why you see the things "portrayed" on the news. I'll leave it at that before someone screams "racism."

Well first, majority of the crimes committed (especially news worthy ones) are committed by non-white people. Second, I watch both News 13 and WESH 2 and I have never noticed they don't show white criminal's mugshots.

Don't kid yourselves, it's prejudicial reporting, if reporting is the right word. Propaganda is more like it. I see the same thing in the Daytona paper, and have been seeing it for the four years we have been here. We had a black mayor elected years ago, and the newspaper basically has pretended that we don't have a mayor. Seriously, I think they may have mentioned his name twice in those years, and no picture, ever, even when he won the mayor's race! It is simply astounding what media outlets get away with in Florida. But judging by the comments on the forum here, they know how to work down to their audience. This forum has a ton of veiled racists (and I don't mean just the Florida forum, they are embedded in all the state forums), so don't expect much agreement on your post.
