I'll be relocating to Orlando in the next few weeks. I'm looking for some advice/feedback regarding neighborhoods.

For starters, I would like rent a home for the first year or two, and I'd like to focus on safe neighborhoods with good schools. I have 4 kids (second grade, kindergarten, soon-to-be preschooler, and a 6 month old).

Secondly, I'd like to stay within 20 minutes or so from UCF campus. While I familiarize myself with the city, I'd like a short commute to and from work.

I'm looking for a 4 bedroom home, although we could easily make it work with 3 bedrooms. We'd rather have a pool than the the fourth bedroom!

From what I've seen, there are plenty of houses with pools. Is it possible to have some yard space with a pool? I have two dogs in addition to my 4 kids!

As far as budget... it looks more expensive out in Orlando than East Texas. I'd like to stay under $1500 a month, but would be will to consider upwards of $1650 for a house that checked off everything!

How are the parks in Orlando? I would love the opportunity to ride bikes with my kids to nearby parks, ice cream shops, etc...

We're looking forward to relocating to Orlando. What other advice or tips do you have to offer?

Thanks...

David

I would recommend the east side of Winter Park which is in the "A-rated" Lake Howell school district. It's an area of older-built homes in well-established/safe neighborhoods and within your 20 minute commute time of UCF as well. Your price range is somewhat limiting to your wish list unfortunately as you're easily looking at $2000 a month for a 3-4 bedroom home with a pool. Here's a link with some rentals in that area.

I feel like your budget is too low.
