dark red is the downtown stretch I see. So that is wherd all the action is.

It's also bad in Oak Ridge and by the Florida Mall.

For the poster asking about what makes it bad: all of the above. OBT passes through a lot of bad, high crime areas. There was a murder outside the Florida Mall not too long ago. The thing about Orlando is that the bad areas here generally do not seem as bad as what would be a typical bad area in the north. This area is so much newer.

I would say that the "red" area in addition to the dark area is bad, also south of that is a little rough below the 528 as you get to Hunter's Creek (which is OK IMO).

Would you say that is where more of Orlando's crime happens? at least 60 percent?

Nope, can't say for sure, but it's definitely one of the larger geographic areas where it happens. Would also say parramore, Eatonville, and pine hills

Correct on Pine Hills. I wouldn't say Eatonville has high crime relative to Orange County, though. It's not that bad out there.
Parramore is included in the area I shaded dark.

To OP, the thoroughfare is very misleading. The stretch from I4 down to Oak Ridge area looks BEAUTIFUL. Make a right on any side street and run up Rio Grande, and you'll see the true colors. Same with the other side (left) which includes Oak Ridge Terrace. On one side is the ghetto Ricans, on the other is the black gangsters. Mixed in between are the white crackheads/whores with hookers and rich losers driving in circles hoping to score. It's among the worst **** I've seen in FL, really.

That being said, it is BUT a part of the metro area. Pine Hills, while high crime, is relatively safe if you're not looking for trouble and/or involved in gangs and drugs, and is FULL of hidden gems, from what I'd rate the ultimate best ramen spot in Florida to some amazing ethnic grocery stores. The vibe there reminds me somewhat of Flatbush, just without the thick urban density.
