One thing I notice that happened to Kissimmee is that it did not seem to keep up with the times. Driving down 192 is like driving through 1994, except at least in 1994 everything was open and thriving around there. It's now run-down businesses, cheap motels, and tacky gift shops and tourist traps.

My family lived in Kissimmee from 1995-1997 before moving to Orlando, I second what you say. Kissimmee was doing great back in the 90s

Does OTownKnight even own a home? From the looks of his profile pic, he appears to be a college age soccer player. Does he even know what it is to pay a mortgage & property taxes, or to maintain & keep up a property for a decade, or 20 years?

What gives OTownKnight the authority to denigrate my community? Most of my Bellalago - Kissimmee neighbors have spent between $300 - $550K to purchase their homes. I'd like to see a picture of his street & residence.

Is DavieJ89 a homeowner? Or is he simply a good-old-boy 'non Hispanic white guy' moaning about evolving demographics, & unable to assimilate & make friends with his neighbors?

Is DavieJ89 trying to tell us that North Las Vegas, Nevada is preferable to Kissimmee? I've been there, & I'm very familiar with the real estate prices, & the transient nature of that city, & their crime problems. I'm also aware of the smog, & severe water shortage that the entire Las Vegas area suffers from, with absolutely no end in sight.

I've had it up to here with unqualified naysayers trash talking my community, city & county. No one is asking you to move here...but be prepared for a massive push back when you can't understand that the 192 business district does not comprise the entirety of this community.

There are plenty of homeowners (myself included) with major investments in Kissimmee & Osceola county...& I have the hunch that those homes & investments are far greater in value than anything these two posters, with their negative comments, have experienced, or could afford.

A small portion of Bellalago in Kissimmee in Osceola county:

Kissimmee looks like a forgotten town or the ruins of what used to be a tourist hotspot. There are pockets that are nice don't get me wrong, but as far as the overall feel and infrastructure, it really falls behind other parts of Central Florida, but that is also why your dollar stretches a lot further.

I don't own a home, I don't appreciate your comment however. And yes North Las Vegas is a Kissimmee equivalent IMO.

In my defense I did say there are nice parts of Kissimmee. As for you saying I'm a "good old white boy" who can't assimilate to changing demographics that is also wrong. My friends in Central Florida are as diverse as they come. Also what defines a "good old boy" I see that as a southern redneck white guy, which I am not. Yes I am white but I was born in Connecticut, in a city that's an hour drive from NYC. White guy? Yes good old boy? no not even

I was simply stating my personal experiences as a white resident in Hispanic majority south Orange County when I did live there. The 32824/32837 zips will always have a special place in my heart considering I've spent so many of my years there. Of the few friends I had in high school (I went to freedom high school) pretty much all of them were Hispanic . I don't have a problem with race but a lot of others did. I can recall a particular situation in 2008 when a Puerto Rican girl I knew went to the Loop to see a movie and everybody gave us dirty looks and talked crap because latina was on a date with a white guy like it was so taboo or something

Broker Harry, I actually have respect for you because generally you give good sound advice to potential newcomers to Central Florida (which btw will always be home.no matter how long I'm in Vegas) but your comment about me was generalized and overall incorrect

Actually, I wouldn't live there if the houses were free.

What are the worst parts of Kissimmee? What zip codes? what major intersections should be avoided?

I do own a home actually, and I do pay property taxes. Thanks for creeping through my very outdated profile though. The picture you posted of the housing community is not the same area that I was referring to in my previous post. Calm down, seriously.

Yes...I realize, you're much better than this. Of course you wouldn't live in this brand new 5600 sq ft Kissimmee lakefront home...even if it was for free.
