Can anyone recommend good but affordable long term parking for MCO? I’m going somewhere for a few days. I looked at the cost in one of the airport garages, but it looks to be about $80 for the time away. I found a cheaper place on Cargo Road, but I don’t know if they have a reliable shuttle to/from the terminals - and if a safe parking location.

It looks like you’ll be gone for 4 days. Save half of that by using economy parking for $10 a day. You’re still on airport property with reliable shuttles, and unlike the private services, there is no expectation to tip. Even if an off site advertises $7.99/day, after fees and tip inbound and outbound, you will fare better in economy parking.

Now if you were planning on covered parking, then I guess the private options may be a better alternative to garage parking.

why is there no expectation of a tip to the on-airport long-term shuttle drivers again?

I've assumed there was no tipping. I've never seen them get tipped either versus using WallyPark, Park Bark & Fly, etc. as they load and unload your luggage. Have I been wrong this whole time? Yikes if so because I am generally a good tipper.

I don't know. I don't live in Orlando (although we're relocating there next year), but here in ATX I use the off-site private parking vendors (Fastpark and Parking Spot) and tip the driver a few bucks like most folks do.

I've never used an on-airport long-term parking lot (no frequent flier benefits to the best of my knowledge, unlike the off-site parking facilities), so I don't really know the tipping etiquette for them, but wouldn't imagine it'd be any different quite frankly?

Perhaps the frequent travelers will weigh in soon, but all of the times I’ve used what is called Economy Parking at MCO, I’ve never tipped nor have I seen other passengers tip.

Tipping for the off-site companies in my opinion is due to the fact that they handle luggage for you.

We just went away for 10 days and used the site on Cargo Road, it was excellent! It was our first time but the shuttle was waiting for us when we were unloading the car and so no wait, pulls right up to departures really quickly as its not far from the gates. When we arrived back, at 11 pm the shuttle was waiting for us. Again was it the time of day? I have no idea.
And because it is so close to the gates we were back to the lot really quickly. And also out of the airport quick too as you are on the right side so no airport traffic.

I will use them again for sure.

We tipped the driver. He did help with bags.
