I went to Disney World several times as a kid and I really like Orlando. I don’t believe we ever checked out Downtown but it looks pretty nice in the photos and videos. How is the foot traffic, though, particularly 5-7 pm on weekdays and weekend afternoons?

Thanks,
Codederick

It’s busy. Surprises most outsiders who have never ventured there.

Downtown Orlando, particularly the South Eola and Thornton Park area are very busy (foot, bike, scooter) during the weekends and after business hours. The area closer to I-4 is more business so less foot traffic. There is a Sunday farmers market at Lake Eola and there are a number of bars and restaurants that have become destination in that neighborhood so attract visitors from outside the downtown bubble.

Orlando and Disney are two totally different places.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate it. Perhaps I will consider moving to Orlando (alongside Míamí and Nashville).

I would also suggest checking out Downtown St Pete/Old Northeast and Hyde Park/South Tampa before making that commitment. Both are pedestrian-friendly and have considerable foot traffic.

Good call! I was looking at Downtown St. Pete. Nice spot and some good energy.
