Hello

I will be soon working at MCO Airport, moving from out of state. I am looking for an apartment or townhome within 15 minutes of the airport, ideally a gated community or at least in a safe area. Budget is not to exceed $1500 a month, (ideally), if that is even realistic for Orlando.

Extra brownie points if the neighborhood or nearby is other working professionals and has "energy" (music, cafes, etc.). (I am not really seeking out a retirement community)

Just a quick check of Google Maps shows the "Lake Nona" area at Highway 417 and Lake Nona Blvd as being close, but wanted to ask the audience what area they recommended.

Thank you

Lake Nona is your best bet. MCO is kind of “out there,” and the only other area I can think of is sketchy along Semoran, and the opposite of what you seem to be looking for.

I lived in LN and went to Lake Nona High School.

Its your best bet.

There are some nice/safe apartments in Vista East as well, just to the north/northeast of Lake Nona. Check out Crowntree Lakes, Art Avenue, Canterbury Cove and River Ridge.

I’d look at living in SoDo or Hourglass District/Curry Ford West. Still about 15 minutes from the airport but also close to downtown Orlando. Both areas have cafes, bars/breweries, music, etc.

Nona will have some of the bars and cafes but the main nightlife will be in downtown. Lee Vista would likely have some rentals and its very close to the airport as well.

I second this.

The neighborhoods along South Bumby and South Ferncreek range from nice enough to really nice, they're close to the action, not far from the airport, and most importantly not in the flight path.

Lake Nona is nice but if I was there I'd want to live as far on the eastern edge of it as I could to be away from the jet noise.
