Even if he didn't think my goal was feasible, he could have responded in a more constructive--and ideally cordial--way.

Also, while greater Orlando may not be the cheapest area, I personally don't consider a budget of 600K to be paltry.
I don't think you're budget is small.

Maybe that money fell in your lap but I think the assumption is that as an adult with $600k to spend on real estate you must be familiar enough with buying and selling property to know that the more "must haves" and "wants" you combine the smaller your potential inventory gets and the higher the price goes. Right?

I want a smaller house with a fairly large yard or some land that a house can be built on. It doesn't have to be a giant yard or tons of land. But enough to create some separation between me and my neighbors. One of the reasons that I need some land is that I would like to have an indoor-outdoor pool built and, ideally, a home gym.

Safety/peacefulness are the biggest priorities in a neighborhood. Also, I would prefer a neighborhood where there aren't a lot of kids, and that isn't too far from shopping (e.g., grocery stores, big box stores), and that isn't in a area with flooding problems.

My budget is about 600K, which would include any improvements.

I'm in no rush to move. The earliest I would be looking at is. January 2023. My budget of 600K may go up between now and then, but let's just leave it there for now.

Thank you!
Real estate will change 10 times between now and 2023.
