Send them via greyhound bus, it will be cheaper.

I just shipped 4 large moving boxes to Southern California this week via UPS. You can go online, create an account and print your shipping labels. UPS will pick up at your house too for a small amount. It cost $13.00 for pickup and about $250 for about 200 lbs. I'd be interested to know what Greyhound charges.

UPS seems to be the best prices I could find.

You should be able to ship 250 pounds of household goods for about $200 via a common carrier (trucking company.)

You won't have control over when they arrive, and you'll have them go to the freight company warehouse to drop off and pick them up there rather than directly to your home.

Check Yellow Freight, Roadway, etc.
