We have a store here in Asheville called Go Grocery that has bread for half price (name brands, in date) and other items for a big savings. It's a grocery outlet. We also have some bakery outlets that sell bread for a dollar instead of three dollars, like sara lee, earthgrains, etc.

Is there anything like that in Orlando, Kissimmee or Davenport, etc.?

Thanks!

If you are looking for good deal on groceries check this out. I have bought food from them and it is always good. You have to order in advance but if you are trying to save money on food it will help you

Hey....thanks for the link. I'm going to check into that further!

I have found that Save-A-Lot is a great place to purchase reduced groceries, but the atmosphere can be less than desirable. I went to one the other day that actually had a security guard inside.

Have you tried Aldi's? There is one on South OBT near Weatherbee in South Orlando and one on 192 in St. Cloud. I went a few times and stocked up on things like bread, eggs, butter and all the essentials. It is super cheap (and clean)but you will have to shop at other stores in order to make full menus. There is a Merita bakery on Donegan near OBT in Kissimmee that sells fresh baked bread and pastries at super low prices. Some days you can go in there and get a loaf for free. Merita Bakeries 1190 E Donegan Ave. Aldi's addresses: 12351 S. Orange Blossom Trail Suite B Orlando, FL 32837 and 4056 13th Street St. Cloud, FL 34769

You just read my mind! Save-A-Lot or Aldi. They just opened a new Aldi over by the mall in Sanford. I don't have any problems in Sanford or Longwood. They also have dollar bread (Sunbeam huge loafs)and other food at the Dollar Tree. There's a discount bread outlet on 17/92 in Sanford also.

There's also a brand new Aldi in WinterPark at the intersection of Aloma and Forsythe. I was in there the other day, in all honesty I went from there to BJ's and found that on a lot of items, BJ's is priced the same or even less, plus you get brand names.

There are also some food items in big lots as well.
There is a bakery outlet on 436 just N of 17/92 on the East side. and another on hanging Moss near foresyth. I find Aldis to be very cheap and consistantly so. I doubt you will beat milk eggs or butter anywhere else.
As to name brands they probably come from the same plants in all reality.
