I'm planning to move to orlando or kissimee and i want to know is there are any children's hospitals near no more than 15 minutes distance? If you know any information about kidcare or schip state medical plan? Thanks.

I don't know anything about kidcare or schip but if you look up
Winnie Palmer Hospital, it's the main hospital for kids.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, It's been awhile since mine was young enough.

Also, they just broke ground on a new Nemours children's hospital next to the new medical school...it will open in a couple of years.

Doesn't it bother anyone else that so many people who are unemployed, uninsured, and collecting any number of public welfare program dollars want to move from wherever they are now to Florida so they can suck off of those of us who lead productive lives and pay taxes?

it seems like half the posts to this forum lately are from people who want section 8 housing, free medical care, special needs programs for their snowflakes in schools, food stamps, the list goes on and they want to move here to Central Florida to get those services. Why don't they just stay where they are?

Kidcare was set up to make sure children have health insurance and I think it is a great program. It is based on how many family members and income you have. If your children don't have insurance then you qualify even if you make a good living. It can cost you as low as $15 a month on up to hundreds. Here is the website: Florida KidCare
You can apply online.

People have to do what they have have to do to survive in these hard times especially if you have children. From what I have seen for all the people moving in we have the same amount moving out.

The difference being that the ones moving out aren't the ones looking for Section 8 housing, Schip (which is a part of medicaid), special ed services, etc. And Kidcare is taxpayer subsidized for the majority of the children in the plan. Look at the State budget for proof.
