I'm in 34711 and have friends of all ages here. Our son is still living with us, and he's in his early 20's. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like it here, except one or two people who are the type who unfortunately aren't going to be happy anywhere. (One has moved at least four times in 10 years, including two cross country type moves, because she hasn't liked it where she lived. )

Clermont is great for all ages. I would stay away from the apartments on the South side but otherwise the area is great with lots of dining options, and a quick ride to Disney.

My folks are at 34711 and the area to me appears to be a little more older than the city proper of Orlando, but there is an influx of young people who come for the triathalon training and what not.

You will mostly likely have to drive to Orlando to work and it can be a bit of a commute, especially at quitting time and take a good 45 mins. To me this is a turn off but if you want quiet and quaint Clermont certainly has that.

They do have a nice little historic district with a few shops and restaurants and art faires and even I think a faire to go and walk your dog at. Its great for biking, running, street slaloming, swimming, freshwater fishing, so if you're outdoorsey you'll love it. However, just beware that our summers can get very hot and our rain falls in large drops very hard.

There are two 55+ communities in Clermont, but the majority of the town is filled with families. It's definitely not an area full of blue hairs, and the demographics are very similar to those of Orlando as far as ages are concerned.

It is a long commute to downtown, although it's great for commuting to jobs west of John Young. It gives you a real small town feel with great neighborhoods, low crime, and these days all the services you need (shopping, hospital, doctors, library, places of worship, community college, and within the next month or so a movie theater).

Do you mean Four Corners? I've heard there is some bad stuff there, but on just the south side of "Clermont" itself, the apts. are nice and there isn't a cop there every night making arrests.

Four corners includes the south end of Clermont where the problem apartment complexes are. There are three complexes down there. Cagan Crossings is generally considered OK but not high end. The other two on the east side of 27--the low income places--are nothing but trouble, and there are more crimes in those two complexes than in the rest of Clermont combined.
