Orlando in the summer time at times is unbearable. Does not sound like a good fit for you. Plus you have to worry about crime and lots of transients. Try going further North & near the ocean, where at least there will be a breeze. But summer time, always gets hot.

My gosh, people make it sound like there are vagabonds and beggars lining the streets waiting to mug you.

On the medical side of things, I am from up north. I had a pretty serious car accident a while back and have been suffering with arthritis, aches, pains, soreness, etc ever since. Once I moved to Florida though, it seems a lot better. There are days I like nothing more then to hobble my butt outside and bask in the sun. The heat really seems to help. Up north, most of the winter (and it was winter more then it wasn't) I was in considerable pain. I would end just miserable. Down here, I only really have to deal with that at most 2 months a year. I am sure maybe Arizona would be better, but I'm happy I made this move.
